Newport Beach MedSpa Botox & Wrinkle Relaxers
22 Years of BOTOX Expertise. Results You Can Trust.
BOTOX is the most-requested aesthetic treatment in the country, but not all BOTOX is the same. The difference between a result that looks natural and one that does not often comes down to a single factor: the skill and experience of the person holding the needle.
At Newport Beach MedSpa, we have been offering BOTOX treatments for 22 years — with more than 20,000 treatments performed. Patients come to us from Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Corona Del Mar, Balboa Island, and throughout Orange County. Every injector on our team is experienced and credentialed. We do not train new injectors on patients. When you sit down for a treatment here, you are working with a provider who has spent years studying facial anatomy, refining technique, and learning from thousands of real results.
Whether you want to soften forehead lines, slim your jawline, treat excessive sweating, or address the early signs of aging before they deepen, our team will build a treatment plan around your face, your goals, and your preferences.
What Is BOTOX?
BOTOX is an FDA-approved injectable neuromodulator that works by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles beneath the skin. When a muscle is relaxed, the skin above it smooths, softening the lines and creases that repeated movement creates over time.
Depending on the treatment area and dosing approach, BOTOX can produce a range of results, from a more dramatic relaxed effect to a very subtle softening that simply makes you look more rested. Our providers will discuss exactly what outcome you are looking for before any product is used.
Results typically appear within 3 to 7 days and last 3 to 4 months on average, though patients who treat consistently often find that results extend over time as muscles soften with repeated treatment.
Who Is a Good Candidate for BOTOX?
BOTOX is appropriate for most healthy adults who want to reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, prevent early lines from deepening, or address functional concerns like jaw clenching or excessive sweating. A good candidate is someone who has realistic expectations, is not pregnant or nursing, and does not have a known allergy to botulinum toxin.
Common patient profiles we treat include:
- Adults in their late 20s and 30s using BOTOX preventively to slow the development of expression lines before they become static
- Patients in their 40s and 50s looking to soften established lines in the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes
- Patients experiencing jaw tension, grinding, or bruxism who want both a slimmer jawline and functional relief
- Patients with excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) looking for a long-lasting, non-surgical solution
- Male patients seeking natural, subtle results that maintain a strong facial structure without an overdone appearance
- Patients who have had BOTOX elsewhere and want a more refined, personalized approach
Not sure if BOTOX is right for you? Our providers offer honest, pressure-free consultations. New patients can be seen and treated the same day.
Our Injectors: Experienced, Credentialed, and Individually Skilled
One of the things that sets Newport Beach MedSpa apart is that each of our providers brings a genuinely individual approach to BOTOX. There is no single house technique. Our injectors have different backgrounds, different areas of expertise, and different styles, which means you can find the right fit for your goals and your personality.

Yibin (Jack), RN | 15 Years Injecting BOTOX
Registered Nurse
15 Years Injecting BOTOXYibin is a Registered Nurse with 16 years of total clinical experience. He is known among patients for his aesthetic eye, his natural results, and his ability to make the experience feel easy and unintimidating. He is especially well-regarded among male patients, many of whom appreciate working with a male nurse and value his direct, unpretentious approach.
Yibin treats the full face and beyond, from forehead and crow’s feet to calves with microdosing BOTOX. He favors a conservative dosing philosophy, using lower units applied more frequently for a consistently natural appearance. He also does BOTOX himself, which tells you something about his confidence in the results.

Amy, NP | Advanced Injector and Laser Specialist
Nurse Practitioner
Advanced Injector & Laser SpecialistAmy is a Nurse Practitioner who began her aesthetics career working alongside a plastic surgeon in Korea, where she received extensive training in injectables and laser treatments. Now an advanced injector at Newport Beach MedSpa, Amy is known for her calm, patient-focused approach that puts people at ease from the moment they sit down.
Amy is especially popular with patients looking for natural, refined results. She is known for her skin tox technique, which involves superficially injecting BOTOX into the skin to soften fine lines, minimize the appearance of pores, and create an overall clearer, more luminous complexion without eliminating natural movement. Her gentle, methodical style, sometimes described as a light tap-tap-tap technique, makes her a favorite for first-time BOTOX patients and anyone who values subtlety.

Caron, PA-C | 25 Years Injecting BOTOX
Physician Assistant
25 Years Injecting BOTOXCaron is a Physician Assistant who earned her degree from the USC Keck School of Medicine and has been practicing aesthetic medicine in Newport Beach for more than 20 years. In 2012, she was selected as one of only 20 professionals in California to join the Allergan Select Team as a Master Injector and trainer for BOTOX and hyaluronic acid fillers. That designation reflects the highest level of expertise recognized by the maker of BOTOX.
Caron’s approach is precise, conservative, and deeply personalized. She uses the finest gauge needle available and is known for a meticulous, delicate touch that minimizes discomfort and produces exceptionally natural results. Her specialty areas include the Nefertiti lift, jawline slimming, and lip BOTOX to soften perioral lines.
Where We Use BOTOX
BOTOX can address a wide range of concerns, both cosmetic and functional. Below are the treatment areas our providers offer at Newport Beach MedSpa.
Forehead Lines
Horizontal lines across the forehead are caused by the repeated upward movement of the frontalis muscle and are one of the earliest visible signs of facial aging. BOTOX relaxes the frontalis to smooth these lines while preserving natural brow movement and expression. Dosing is carefully calibrated to avoid brow heaviness, a common side effect when this area is overtreated. Patients with deep-set forehead lines often see the most dramatic improvement.
Glabellar Lines (Frown Lines / 11s)
The vertical lines between the brows that appear when you concentrate or frown are caused by the corrugator and procerus muscles. BOTOX relaxes the muscles that pull the brows together, smoothing the skin and softening a tired or stern resting appearance. This is an FDA-approved treatment area and one of the most clinically well-studied applications of BOTOX.
Crow’s Feet
The fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes that appear when you smile or squint are caused by the orbicularis oculi muscle. BOTOX softens these lines at rest while preserving the natural movement that makes expressions look genuine. This is one of the most commonly treated areas and one that consistently delivers highly satisfying, natural-looking results.
Masseter / Jawline Slimming
BOTOX injected into the masseter muscles reduces the appearance of a wide or square jaw by relaxing the muscles responsible for jaw clenching and grinding. Over a series of treatments, the masseter gradually reduces in volume, creating a slimmer, more tapered jawline. This treatment also provides functional relief for patients who experience jaw tension, soreness, or tooth wear related to bruxism.
Nefertiti Lift (Platysmal Bands)
The Nefertiti lift addresses the vertical bands in the neck that become more visible with age as the platysma muscle begins to pull downward on the lower face and jawline. BOTOX injected along the platysmal bands relaxes this downward pull, restoring definition along the jawline and creating a subtle lifting effect in the lower face and neck. This treatment was previously used off-label for many years and has since received FDA approval. It is one of Caron’s favorite and most-requested treatments.
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Underarm Sweating)
BOTOX is FDA-approved for the treatment of primary axillary hyperhidrosis, a condition characterized by excessive underarm sweating that is unrelated to heat or physical activity. BOTOX works by blocking the nerve signals that activate sweat glands in the treated area, dramatically reducing perspiration. The procedure takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes and involves a series of small injections across the underarm area.
Combining BOTOX With Other Treatments
BOTOX works exceptionally well on its own, but many of our patients achieve their best results by pairing it with complementary treatments. Our providers take a whole-face approach to treatment planning and will suggest combinations that make sense for your anatomy and goals, never just to add services.
BOTOX and Dermal Fillers
BOTOX and dermal fillers address different aspects of facial aging and are often used together for a more complete result. BOTOX relaxes muscles to smooth dynamic lines, while fillers restore volume, structure, and contour that is lost over time. Common combinations include BOTOX in the upper face paired with filler in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, or under-eye area. Together, they can take years off your appearance in a single visit without surgery.
BOTOX and Lip Filler
For patients interested in lip enhancement, BOTOX and lip filler can be combined in the same appointment. Caron uses BOTOX around the lips to soften perioral lines and enhance the overall result of lip filler, while Amy frequently treats patients seeking both lip filler and BOTOX in the upper face. The two treatments complement each other well and are commonly requested together.
BOTOX and PDO Threads
PDO threads provide structural lifting and collagen stimulation that BOTOX alone cannot achieve. For patients beginning to notice laxity along the jawline, jowls, or neck, combining BOTOX with PDO threads can produce a more comprehensive lifting and tightening result. Masseter BOTOX is frequently paired with thread treatments for a refined lower face contour.
BOTOX and EZ Gel / PRP
EZ Gel is a biostimulator made from the patient’s own plasma and albumin that improves skin quality, texture, and volume from within. Combined with BOTOX, it addresses both muscle movement and overall skin health for a naturally refreshed result. This pairing is popular with patients who want to improve skin quality alongside their wrinkle relaxer treatment.
Dysport®: An Alternative Neuromodulator
For patients who have had BOTOX and want to try something slightly different, or who have heard about Dysport and want to explore their options, we offer Dysport as an alternative. Like BOTOX, Dysport is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A injectable that works on the same principle. Some patients find that Dysport spreads slightly more diffusely and may take effect a little faster. During your consultation, your provider can discuss whether Dysport might be worth trying based on your history and goals.
Your BOTOX Appointment at Newport Beach MedSpa
New patients can book a consultation and be treated the same day. There is no need to schedule a separate visit before getting started.
During your appointment, your provider will review your goals, assess your facial anatomy and muscle movement, and discuss dosing and placement before any product is used. Treatments typically take 15 to 30 minutes. Most patients experience minimal discomfort and can return to normal activity immediately.
For patients who feel anxious about needles or simply want to feel more at ease during treatment, we offer PRO-NOX™ — a self-administered nitrous oxide system that helps take the edge off. It works quickly, wears off quickly, and lets you drive yourself home. Just let us know when you book or when you arrive.
Results begin to appear within 3 to 7 days, with full results visible at approximately 2 weeks. We recommend scheduling a follow-up visit at 2 weeks for first-time patients so your provider can assess your results and make any fine-tuning adjustments if needed.

After the procedure, I was red and a bit puffy, but the evening of the next day I looked like a beauty queen. I had a brand new face. My skin was bright, tight and youthful looking.
