Is Microdermabrasion Good for Your Skin?
Microdermabrasion is a process that gently exfoliates the skin to leave it softer looking and brighter. Our skilled skin care technicians use fine crystals to exfoliate and buff dead cells from facial skin. The treatment encourages your body to produce new skin cells which helps your skin look taut and lifted. No chemicals are used, so this is a great option for those who are sensitive to non-organic elements. This exfoliation technique clears away surface impurities, bacteria, improves acne scars, pox marks, and other imperfections.

How Long Does Microdermabrasion Treatment Last?
Microdermabrasion is less invasive, less expensive, and has a shorter recovery time than dermabrasion or other more aggressive skin rejuvenation treatments. Therefore, the effects are not quite as long-lasting. In general, microdermabrasion treatment will last for about six to twelve months. You can lengthen this time by taking extra good care of your skin. Because the procedure is non-invasive and has minimal risks, you can repeat the treatment after a short interval.
Our custom microdermabrasion treatment plans include comprehensive patient consultations, and recommended use of home care products to help your skin look bright and youthful. We often suggest a monthly membership to maintain treatment results, especially for patients with pigmentation issues, sun damage, or persistent, mild acne. Once you have achieved your desired results, you only need to repeat the procedure every few months.
Microdermabrasion Aftercare
Your skin may be pink right after your procedure but will gradually return to a normal color. It may feel like you have windburn or a slight sunburn for about 24 hours, but a good moisturizer will make you more comfortable and help you heal faster. Avoid make-up for the first day after the treatment and be sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat if you are outside. You can expect complete healing within seven to ten days, and you will be able to resume all normal activity after 14 days.
